    Auto gearbox/drivetrain clunk

sorry to partially resurrect an old post - but was wondering if anyone can help me - I get a big clunk when coming to a stop and it seems to beonly when the box shifts down from 3rd to neutral. If you're in 1st or 2nd and come to a halt it's completely clunk-free... It's hard to tell whether it's coming from the box or the drivetrain - I realise the BW36 is a bit agricultural but is this normal?

the idle speed is about 600rpm and all other shifts are fairly smooth.

I will check the UJs when I get a chance, but wouldn't that cause an issue on all gears? :?

    thanks in advance!

Hi.... got same problem, major clunk from diff when box changing down - checked drive shafts & UJ's and all appears well - with back end off ground, wheels on,have noticedsignificant movement on n/s shaft within diff', nothing on o/s - diff' does not whine.
