Yep Russ I can, took the car round to a mate from works house the other night who had never seen my Stag and thought they only made them in white. He was amazed when I started the car up to leave how smooth the engine was and actually commented about being able to balance a coin on the engine. Funny how a bit of paintwork seems to make the car run better
No...... the challenge is to have the engine running, place the coin on the engine (no glue, blutack, grease or any other artificial aids) let go and count to 7 seconds before the coin falls........and we need video verification that the engine is indeed running...
AYOR is the name of this game.......:P if you want to risk it, it will be on your own head, but as you can see it's pretty foolproof as it will just fall over onto the airbox (no warranty or guarantees implied or given:P:P:P:P:P)
And it can be done with a Triumph 2.5P.I.Straight Six.
Now I have sorted the P.I. system I can do it with mine.
Don Kennedy.
Go on then, show us...... never seen a PI engine that idled smoothly so I'm intruiged
I'm sure someone is going to shout "foul" but due to the engine slanting backwards I had to rest the coinagainst the oil filler cap. Not the greatest quality as I used a normal digital camera in movie mode. I consider this as a success although I am sure there will be a comment or two. The piece of wood you can see is holding the bonnet open as it will not go all the way up in the garage as it hits the door. No glue, magnets etc as can be seen by the coin shaking.
