IT's a SMALL (STAG) WORLD

When I lived in North Wales, apart from the co-incidence of their being another Stag owner living in the same Glan Conwy village, I hardly ever met any other Stag owners (apart from one in Euxton, nr. Chorley), and I never attended any area meetings because the nearest one was still quite some considerable distance away.

Moving to Tenerife I thought I would see even fewer Stag enthusiasts - but just the opposite has in fact been the case.

Los Cristianos is not a big place, yet it seems to attract a considerable number of Stag owners & enthusiasts. Nearby lives the Canarian owner of a red Stag, and a Ramsgate owner has just bought a property just down the road from where we live. The SOC West Yorks co-ordinator (Ian Charlesworth) is also a Los Cristianos property owner and a regular visitor out here (just found out he will be here again from the 4th July). Not all that long ago both Snakey & Andrew S were out here at the same time, and it was nice to meet them for the 1st time and have a get together.

Currently Robert & Janet (the owners of 1 5TAG) are staying just up the road from us and we have a run out in my Stag planned for Monday. Chopperman is another Forum member who is a Los Cristianos visitor, and it was Keith who supplied me with some new Stag decals to put on my car.

I have to say I have met (and enjoyed the company of) more Stag owners since moving to Tenerife than I ever did in the U.K. It has been a pleasure to meet them all and long may that continue. Who would have thought that in such a small place thousands of miles from the Homeland I would meet so many like minded Stag enthusiasts on such a regular basis. Hardly a month goes by without a Stag owner being out here to share experiences with - which is nice.

I have attached to this post a Map of Los Cristianos showing the places fellow Stag owners have stayed, or own Property. Quite amazing really. The car colours should match the colour of their Stags if I have got it right. Other Stag owners always welcome - the more the merrier - PM me if your thinking of coming out or want more info.

PS. Siam Parc - Europe’s biggest new water theme park is now open and is amazing - if you are coming out here with kids they will love it - went there last week when the Family were over and will be definitely be going again in the near future.

SWMBO and I were at Paradise Park a couple of years ago. Its about time we went back to Tenerife, but with #1 Grandchild due at the beginning of September I can't see it being this year................

You should have made contact when you were over - Paradise Park is only next door.
Our 3rd Grandaughter came out to visit us in Tenerife at 9 weeks old and was in the Pool most days and loved it. Her & her elder Sister have just been out again in June and neither of them wanted to go back to the U.K. They loved Siam Parc.

I thought there was another white Stag in Tennerife a few years ago, remember speaking to the guy at National Day a few years back. He had cut grills from an air con unit into thebonnet to help keep it cool. Couple of years later he won the Practical Classics Mini that they restored, could have been another canaries island though Was drinking in a bar in Las Americas a few years back and heard the stag burble dashed out to look and saw a red Stag disappearing up the road, bar owner thought I was doing a runner.

Don't know about another white one - but the red one was probably the President of the Arona Classic Car Club as he drives a red stag. I'm going to join this Club soon so I'll find out more about it and any others. Don't think there are any more around though as at April's record breaking Classics gathering in Las Americas at which 641 Classics turned up - mine & the President's (don't know his name yet) where the only Stags there but there were lots of other Triumphs represented (see my You Tube video).

Whilst in Teneriffe a few years back we ended up looking for old Rootes dealers as my wife owns a Minx and a Commer, found one but I cant remember the name of the place, you could still see the logos on the building windows although the building was derelict. We found the info re the dealer locations at a really nice classic car museum in Las Americas do you know if its still there? The place was fantastic with lovely tiled floors and decorwith some really nice motors on display including one or two Triumphs. Also stumbled upon a village carnival whilst we were there with some classics on display, remember particularly a lovely red Opel GT which was absolutely stunning.

Dave, don't know about a museum in Las Americas although "Harleys" Diner has Harley Davidsons & parts of old Cadillacs outside. If you checkout my You Tube video
"Arona Classic Car Show 2009" you will see a red Opel GT on that - might be the same one.
