Had mine today, would like to say it sailed thru but he found a slight petrol leak inside the tunnel. He said petrol leaks were an automatic fail but against MOT regs he tightened the clips, stopped the leak and passed the car. close call considering a fail would have left it untaxed and hence not available for Brands. - AlanComment

Passed this morning!
Advisory for N/S wiper blade and slight exhaust leak from one joint (on to do list now)
CO reading 2.416% HC 388ppm
So all set for Sunday!!

I had to dismantle my exhaust completely and put sealant in all the joints, as they were all leaking:shock:
Still had one tiny leak and the examiner was going to fail it:shock:
After a few words and mentioning a lap around Brands hatch he let me off - phew:dude:
As he was filling in the certificate he said he was not happy about letting it pass, I said it's not like it is anything life threatening is it?
He said no, but he did not like them. What, Stags I said, No just old cars in general
Oh, I said, What do you drive then 'a Saxo or a Corsa?
He was not very pleased about that comment asking how oldI thought he was.!Looked about 20 to me
I don't think I will be going back to that garage with my Stag again. (West End Garage for any locals)

I think I would steer clear of them - looking for something to fail it on - I have passed loads of MOTs with small blows - they have always said unless it was a bad one its ok
