Hi
I also am having trouble with these principally on the drivers side. There is too muchup and down play in the runners meaning that seat rocks back and forth. I have taken the seat out and managed to insert a slightly larger roller but am not getting the full range of forward/backward travel. It wasn't that smooth before I started. I noticed that a previous owner seem to have had difficulties in this area as the ends of the runners show signs of distress from the application of a hammer. How many rollers should there be per side? Is there an easy way to improve this area? There doesn't seem to be any info in the workshop manual.

Hi my problem is that I cannot find a way of inserting the balls after fitting the rollers. There are two rollers per slide which travel between two stop pins, these are easy tyo fit but getting the balls in is another matter. There must be an easy way but so far I have not found it! The roughness in travel is probably due to build up of dust which clogs up the roller and ball tracks. If you have excessive vertical lift it could be that the balls have come out. There should be four balls per slide which prefent actual slide from lifting. Good luck Phil

The balls are difficult to get in/out but you can do it if you put the slide in the correct position first. Its a bit difficult to explain though.
Re excessive play, this may be due to a lost ball or roller. If they are all present and there is still play you will find the track has worn excessively; the balls wear deep grooves and indentations. It would be nice of we could buy new ones, but I suspect the cost would put most people off.

Hi
Can anyone tell me what size the balls are? I don't seem to have any:shock:, only some rollers. What is the sequence? Are there rollers at each end with balls inbetween? There are indents at intervals along the upper section of the track that must be separators. Any chance anyone has a drawing that I can refer to. Would it be easier to substitute a track system from another BL vehicle? Sorry, so to pose so many questions that Iam in danger ofstraining your patience.
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings and I hope to achieve enlightenment and maybe mana whatever that is.

The balls are 1/4" or 6mm.I do have some spare and if you send me your address I will send through the post.Do not fit oversize rollers you will never fit the balls and do not use grease or oil, assemble dry,or use dry graphite. Using oversize rollers will also result in the track jamming. Remove the assembly from the seat. The sliding track is a top hat section and the rollers sit in the centre. The balls fit between the two lips and the under side of the top of the fixed section, difficult to achieve! There are indents on the sliding section and the balls should be towards the centre of the track relative to these. If you go for anotherassembly be warned that the passenger and drivers side are not intercangeable. My E- mail is p.neale@virgin.net
