Whoops, clarification needed maybe! Dakman and stustag are separate pseudonyms, asused by two different users of this forum.

Just so happens that RogerP is Dakman's real name.

If you see what I mean....................

    For the avoidance of doubt..............!

Hi RogerP & Dakman (AKA RogerP:?)

Roger I have been in the club since 2004 and have never heard of the knighthawk group.

I don't think it is dead as some us on the forum have d helped others out just like the knighthawk group are supposed to.

As I said if anyone needs help they can phone me my number is on the Worcester club register.

      Hi Stuart

Not sure when you joined but Issue 276 August 2004 page 26 & 27 List the Knighthawk Register for the UK and Europe. It has a code 1-8 listing whats available ie: spares..tools..technical..trailor or rope..bed..car parking..stag garage..tourist information plus what languages are spoken.

I don't think the Knighthawk should be confused with whatthe forum does..The register really was for people who were say away on holiday and had got a problem, didn't know anybody local, and were stuck...............But as I said earlier most people have breakdown cover nowadays.

I'm sure any of us who see a broken down classic not just a Stag would stop, and offer help.

You could always keep a copy of the club magazine in the car. You would always have the contact details of the area co-coordinator's with you then. I am sure thay would be able to point to in the right direction if you conked out somewhere.

        Hi Dave

Fully agree that's the best solution.

We usually carry one with us, you've got more up to date information, with co-ordinator's and deputy's, and although they might not put there name down on a register I feel sure if they got a phone call from somebody in trouble they would help in whatever way they could. I forgot to say in my last post several years ago we had a call from a German member on holiday in Cornwall and his brake master cyl had gone. He had not got a copy of any register but he knew us personally, and fortunately he had our phone number, told us his problem, and things went into action, I used the mag to find local Co-ordinator quick phone call, and within 15min I was able to ring the member back, give him name and number of a garage near him who was prepared to stop open on a Saturday afternoon to get him sorted. If we could not find anyone local to sort it I would have driven the 500ml round trip with a new cyl and fit it at the place they were stopping.

To my mind that's what being a member of a club is about.
