    Club/Car Rivalry?

I wondered whether there is any common rivalry between Stag owners and the owners or clubsof other cars. I know a lot of people own more than one classic and I would imagine there would be a mutual respect or appreciation between the owners of any classics but I can't help feeling almost a bit of a snob whenever I see the guy across the road from me in his MG. I went for a drink in a local countrypub the other evening and inadvertenly found myself in the middle of the local area MG Owners Club meet. Oh how I wish I'd gone in my Stag but unfortunately I had been in the middle of some cosmetic work and I had my rear bumper and door handles off so it was covered up in the garage. Just wondered whether other people felt the same or is it just me?

    Regards,

    Barry

I think there's agood degree of comradeship amongst Triumph models even though the club network is fairly fragmented, but MG owners seem to attract more than their fair share of distain. It's probably down to sheer weight of numbers - 'familiarity breeds contempt' and all that. Personally the classic car runs I enjoy the best are the ones when all makes of classics (including MG) take part - much more fun and interesting under bonnet conversations in the pub car park.
