Hi
Having seen a nos switch on ebay on buy it now I foolishly removed my ignition masterswitch and opened it to cleanthe terminals thinking I can always buy a new one if cleaning it doesn't work. I wasn't prepared andbits flew around the cabin.
Bother or worse. I recovered the flying bits and have reassembled it and would really appreciate it if someone can find time to check the continuity between terminals on a working one.
At present the battery is disconnected. With no key in the lock terminals 2,3 and 6 are in contact.Turn 1 gives 2,3,5 &6 in contact. Turn2 gives 7 in addition and finally the last position connects terminal 1 with the white and red wire to the starter solenoid. Can someone confirm that I am not about to fry the harness if I re-connect the battery? The one I had seenon ebay has disappeared otherwise I would have bought it.
On a slightly different tack can anyone provide a legend showing what letter signifies what colour on the wiring diagram on the handbook? Does n mean brown?
Thanking you in advance. It is galling to have a beautiful car in the garage that I daren't try to start.
