Rocket-it - have you used it?

Hi All

I am back onto painting questions:P

Have any of you used "Rocket-it" with 2k paint to reduce drying times?Operation paint the GT6 Jasime Yellow has commenced.

I have used Rocket in salads, with fishand with different meats. Gives a nice peppery flavour when fresh. Never tried it with paint though

Hi, What colour have you decide to paint it?, I was after the Gt6 below but someone beat me to it, could not get the finanaces in time, GROAN, I have nightmares about what i have missed out on.

be carefull with 2k accelorators, good in winter when temp is low

can be very fast in summer temps

also can set b4 u have had time to clean gun out ,very messy job getting out hardened paint from spray gun

my advice is not to use on large areas

I agree with all the comments from ALAN, be very careful with how you use it at this time of year. Alsoifyou use rocketat the recommended quantities in this weather it will dry too fast and you will loose some of the gloss. Why doyou need to use an accelerator are you short of space or is it just to speed things up?

Hi Guys

Thanks for the useful responses. I was thinking of using Rocket to assist the paint to dry faster so that I can get it back out of the garage quicker after spraying as the Stag will be sitting outside:?. However, you have convinced me not to attempt it.

How long do I have to leave 2k before I can rub it down, polish etc? I want the car back on the road pronto.

Bruce i use rocket it al the time when spraying at home and it is fine - what i will sayis you only need a few drops 2-3 max per full paint cup as it does go off pretty quick (the stuff i use does anywaY)

Re cleaning your gun i have just left my Sata jet soaking in thinners for 3 days as it was getting mucky and it has come up really wel and looks almost as good as new

So to sum up use rocket but only use it in very small amounts - ie drops not squirts of it
