    Clutch reservoir

    Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had fitted a different clutch reservoir instead of the old tin one as mine has a sight pin hole leak on the top.
I have put some chemical metal on it but still leaks slightly.

I was thinking of the small reservoirs on motorbike handlebars?

    Any thoughts?

    Rgds.....Al

Hey Al - the reservoir isn't anything special, so i suspect your idea of a bike-derived alternative would work - i'd just look for something with a similar capacity.

Dumb question.... why not just find a s/hand one ?

                Hi Al

                Could it not be soldered?

My friend sent his away to be zinc plated and it looked good, but the process damaged the solder he was told, so presume it can be

Thanks for your replies Andy and Andrew,

I was just seeing if anyone had actually tried anything else in place of the old tin one.

My original leaked when I connected easibleed to it, and a second hand one I got did the same, but not as bad. I plastered the top with chemical metal which pretty much sealed it, but have noticed some pooling on the top of the reservior.

                  Regards.....Al.

Al, just a thought. The lid to the reservoir hasa small hole in it, this pool wouldn't be because its overflowing when pedal is depressedis it?

Could be Andrew, had not thought of that.

I will get my son to press the pedal tomorrow while I have a look.

                            Thanks....Al.
