The little 90 Degangle driveat the 'j' type rear case speedo connection is in contact with the upper mounting bracket of my gearbox'srear mounting.Further back the cable is clipped tothe underside of the overdrive sump cover, r/h front screw. Where the cable rests against the rear of the same sump coverthe outer layer of plastic sheathing has worn away.

The route just doesn't seem right to me.Could anyone confirm if the routing of the cable shown in the attached photo is correct?

No, and thats my point! It could almost be rotated to any angle to a position that would clear the bracket, but to take the cable through that particular route the fouling occurs. Hence my query.

It's a simple question or so I thought, is it the correct route, if not, what is?

I've just been out to check mine and the cable actually passes over, ie goes around the gearbox mounting bobbin in a smooth curve. The angle drive is clear of everything. On your photo the cable would be on the side of the mounting nearest to the camera.

Thanks Brian, just needed to know there is an alternative route. What route dose yours take from there, is it secured anywhere. Come to think of it I don't even remember at what point it enters through the floor/gearbox well enroute to the speedo!
