Hi All

Yet again Classic & Sports Car magazine came up trumps I entered this months competitions and won two free tickets to last weekends Touring car and Formula 2 racing.

It was really good to meet up with Bob, Martin and Kevin thanks you for your company.

Its really sad to hear that John Surtees son who crashed in the Formula 2 race died over night. My thoughts are with the family

I feel really bad now after commenting on finding a good spot to see crashes (thrills and spills make motor racing fun to watch), I certainly didn't want to see anyone get hurt. What a sad end to what would have been remembered as a good day out.

Heard the news this morning about Henry Surtees, poor lad was only 18. We watched the car being hitched onto therecovery trucknot knowing the seriousness of the accident, it has certainly taken the edge off a great day out. Good company on the day with Phil, Kevin and Martin.

We were at Brands because I was trying to set up a parade lap for the Formula 2 drivers, which was cancelled due to re-arranged time table. Brands sent me 4 complimentary tickets for my time. Kevin, Martin & myself had a ticket the other went in the bin as nobody wanted it. Imagine how you would have felt if you were the one that took Henry Surtees round on your car before the race. Maybe it was meant to be that the parade lap was cancelled.

That thought had crossed my mind, but even so if the chance to take drivers on a parade lap came up again I'd be up for it, I won't live my life wondering 'what if' all the time and second guessing these things.
