Distributor refitting

Hi All

Just want to check I have done this right?

When refitting the dizzy I brought the No2 piston to TDC the refitted the dizzy, the rotor arm was facing the screw on the outer body next to the vacuum advance/retard unit is the right?

It shows the plug lead connections and numbering for the distributor cap

Stuart, As dave has already said you need to point the rotor arm to the offside coil mounting screw which means pointing it to the middle of the coil when you insert it and the helical gear moves it back to the correct position when you push it down.

It goes without saying make sure you are on the compression stroke of number 2ie the timing marks align with the 0 degrees mark. - Alan

All you have to do then is swap leads 3 & 5 around.

Firing order is 1-2-7-8-4-5-6-3

This is the amended diagram with the correct firing order!!

I will have to go back and correct my Stanpart catalogue

Hope this helps all who are stuggling with which lead goes where!!
