Just wanted to tell this storyto those whounderstand :-)
Rather chuffed with myself and especially my car. This weekend I decided to take it on a tour of Switzerland. When I say a tour, the whole round trip was only 300Km. I know you guys do that per day on the M25 but that distance takes me half across Switzerland!
Her indoors was not too chuffed especially when I announced I was taking the kids. She phoned the TCS ( Swiss RAC ) to see if I was covered to get back. So not a lot of confidence has she in the car.
To be sure all would be ok ,I checked all levels, fluids etc before setting off and after 2 minutes of driving to the local garage to collect a motor vignette I noticed a water leak on the car! I could not beleive it. Imagine her face when I re appeared 5 minutes into the trip. Simple fix, I had not tightened the radiator top tight enough, always frightened to overtighten that brass nut.
So with that fixed, off wego again. The car operated faultlessly. Temp never left 45%, oil pressure 55 - 60 at 3500RPM. Even in a 30C temperatures. The electic fan did cut in on a 15% hill I had to climb but that was to be expected. What a lovely car to drive even on the motorway at 70 MPH
Arriving at our destination and inspecting the food hamper she gave for me and the kids I could see Her Indoors was definitely expecting us back home that evening! Views in Inner Switzerland are breathtaking, super Stag country, must do this more often
Anyway, just finished the return trip and again without any issues, this time with the top down. Super Super, wow did I have fun. Not sure the kids were too chuffed in the back but I turned their favourite music up loud so they didnotcomplain ( or I did not hear it )
Her in doorwas rather impressed to say the least when we arrived home under our own power. Cant wait for my next trip. Maybe I am getting close to her actuallycoming withus in the car for a trip. Two years of ownership and she has only been in the car twice. Maybe nowshe will not stop calling it "My CrapMobile" or maybe not. Ther eis a valid reason for that but that is another story
Am I the only one with these issues?
Hope I did not boar you all to death but just wanted to relay my story to those who uinderstand. Now off ofr a well earned beer and she gets a good waxing
