    car insurance

Just renewed my car insurance for the year

    £102.82 with Adrian Flux

3000 miles per year, agreed £8500 valuation, excess £100

car is garaged overnight, and does not have an alarm

how does this compare with what others car paying?

Not much of a comparison, but mine is 7500 miles a year, and lives outside. That came in at £300 or so I think, including uk breakdown cover.

3000 miles mileage allowance, driveway overnight, excess of £500 & the car is valued at £5000. First year I paid £1900. This year I've paid £1000. Just got a new quote of £490 from the end of august.

I'd say yours compares pretty well

Hi, have you got an agreed value policy, or market value ? Agreed value does NOT attract a no-claims discount so it sounds to me as if you have the wrong one ! It's also VERY expensive.

If God forbid, you suffer a total loss, the company willsearch very hard for the cheapest valuation, and that could be £900 on Ebay. Go tosome of the classic car insurancespecialistsand specify "agreed valuation".For low mileage cars theSOC scheme is very good. Martin.

Unfortunately, at the young age of 21, classic car insurance companies don't even want to look at me let alone provide me a quote. Not got an agreed value policy but I will have to look into that before setting up this years insurance.

Club scheme, 3000 miles, £7200 value, garaged. £126 inc IPT and legal expenses which I might get rid of, (waste of a tenner I reckon)

Does anyone have business use cover on their policy? My premium last year was around £200 for 5000 miles, garaged, but included business cover. I wonder if it has much of an effect.

Wouldn't want to take it off though as I like to use the Stag on sunny days to travel to business meetings
