Hope there is someone out there as I'm hoping to take my Stag toTHE party at the weekend. I recently changed all my brake fluid and replaced it with DOT 4 synthetic.I was told this would be ok.The brakes work but you have to keep pumping them. If I replace the synthetic with normal will this cure the problem, or have I totally killed the brake system. I was going to order a repair kit for the master as this seems to be the problem and stay with the synthetic. Mike. Tops off the suns shining just need brakes.

You probably have air trapped in the fluid and need to bleed the brakes. Thats should get you going, but I think in the longer term you will need to flush the sytem out to clear out all the residue of the old incompatible fluid.

Personally I would stick with the old fluid and avoid synthetic.

Personal feeling is you've killed the master when you bled it out - the seals travelled further down the bore than usual and due to wear and/or corrosion in the m/cyl bore the seals have gone.....

It could just be air, but due to this happening to me in the past, I doubt it.
