rocker cover gasket

just bought two rocker cover gaskets off of some bloke on ebay, and they are the right shape just an inch short. the question i am asking is, are the dolomites gaskets thje same as the stags?.

he reckons that are, but theres no way these are gonna fit........... help

I think the dolomite & TR7 gaskets are narrower around the timing gear.

If you look on Rimmers site you will see they are different part Nos.

No, Marty, they are different. TR7 and Dolly engines only have the one chain, so the front part of the cover is narrower than the Stag. I noticed someone on eBay selling gaskets and claiming they fit all, including SAABs, but he is wrong.

you will all laugh at this but he told me to leave them in water over night and they expand. he is the one saying that they ll fit saabs too.

but he reckons that he has sold loads and they have all fitted, cant seem them gaining an inch in length, if it does i know what i am gonna leave in water over night

Maybe if you soaked them in Viagra overnight they may reach the required length!
