    Advice re rocker covers

    Having looked through previous threads I have found advice for putting rocker box covers back on but none for taking them off! I am quite happy to admit to being an ignoramus when it comes to this kind of thing so if anyone could give me a step by step how to...I would be very grateful.

    While your doing that - where are the best places to jack the body up so I can put axle stands in..

    Thanks in advance!

    Mark

    I have just realised (after going through my July magazine received yesterday..)that most of you will be off to the national weekend....typical timing on my part

    To remove rocker covers;

    remove air cleaner and the base bolted to the intake elbows, undo the 4 screws on the top of the rocker cover give it a little tap and bingo it`s off....

    Best jacking and axle standpoint isfront the subframe.

    Hope this is any help.

        Hi Adrian/Mark

        Please don't forget the 2 screws at the front of the cam covers!

        I always undo the 3 bolts on the each elbow where they join the carb body then lift away making sure you have also removed the hot air pipe.

              Sucessfully managed to replace the gaskets - I think anyway - they were a bit floppy but I jammed them on just the same - however I am now getting seepage/weeping from the front screws - I did have the rubber washers for the four main screws on the top of the cover - do I need more for these ones or have I put the wrong rubber washers on the wrong screws? Does that make sense???

              Anyway HELP PLEASE.......
