    Interior trim

I am nearing completion of a 10 year restoration (more like 9 years inactivity followed by 12 months of work and expense!) and need a few well chosen words of advice re the interior.

Firstly the standard seats with the lattice work insets. After the 10 years of not being used, all those small nook and crannies in the seats are full of dust and other things. Any ideas on the best way to get them looking sparkling again?

Secondly the door cards. Mine are in pretty good shape and so I just bought some new clips and the plastic inserts to clip them onto the door. However the clips don't want to hold the card close to the door in some places. Any thoughts?

    Hi,

Cleaning the basket weave is a problem. You can use mild soapy water and a nail brush to loosen the dirt, then rinse it off with clean water. Follow this up with a vinyl cleaner.

Where did you get the door clips from? Some of the ones available are, to put it mildly, cr*p! Peter Howells at www.ldpart.co.uk sells an alternative type which are really good:

I just bought enough for the ones under most stress, i.e. the bottom corners.

    Dave.

Many thanks Dave. Exactly the sort of reply I was after. I have ordered some of those clips.
