    Oil in V

I have noticed that there is some oil gathering in the Vee of my standard V8 engine. As far as I can see it's not coming from the rocker covers. Any pointers and advice would be welcome.

Hi, take a large screwdriver and a decent rag and clean it out thoroughly, then start watching for a trail as / if it reappears. Martin.

Distributor is an obvious suspect, especially if the bores are worn and the engine is "breathing a bit hard" and blowing past the seals, as are cam covers and head gaskets weeping in the front corners by the inlet manifold.

Favourite place (and cheapest) is a split breather hose from thecam cover.

I had this problem the oil comes out the overflow holes at the top of the dashpot covers and leaks down into the V! This oil would be clean not black (dirty used) like engine oil though.
