bumpers/chroming

currently painting stag and need bumpers rechromed. Has anyonegot any info on anywhere that does chroming in the essex area?

Hi Andy
I bought a rear bumper off Ray,it was excellent.
His email chromeworld@blueyonder.co.uk.
He quoted me £165 just to do the front blade or £235 for blade / overiders / plinth and return delivery.
He has qtr bumpers on ebay at the moment (310166604144) to buy without exchange,his user name is flyingfinch61.

Steve, Are these original or repros that are re-chromed? Looking at doing a few bits over winter time

Ray does an excellent job and has a good source of parts to re chrome so can help out with missing items. He hates repro bumpers as they are so thin and ripply, so he tends to aim for originals.

More importantly, he can get parts repaired before chroming such as rear bumper quarter brackets

Hi Baz
As far as i know they are original parts repaired and rechromed,one of my quarters had been repaired and there is a small mark underneath which Ray mentioned before i bought it.
The rear of his work will need painting with hammerite or similar,they are clean but not chromed and have no protection.

hi all,

Thanks for the replys, only just extracted myself from the garage i have had a quote from ray (£425) for both bumpers. It came as quite a shock to me as in 1998 i had two bumpers done for £130 they were good but not perfect hence why i am looking elsewhere. i suppose quality is going to cost.
