My half shalfs on the car are gone, and i have a mk 1 so changing the UJ's is not for DIY, besides the splines also have lots of play.
Trying to avoid spending hundreds on datson convertions or new coated shafts if possible.
I bought some second hand mk2 complete shafts (with hubs), there are no play in the uJs, but i'd put new UJ's in before fitting anyway. assume also wish to renew the wheel bearings, On one of the shafts, i can not detect any play in the splines. But on one (with it fairly dry of grease) there is some movment. Hard to describe, notany play if i try to rotate the shaft, but there is play if a wiggle along the length.
Have attched two video links to you tube .
Any idea if these splines will be okay once greased or am i wasting my time?
cheers
