Due to the wonders of one of those little netbooks. I jotted this down one evening overlooking Lake Windermere. I typed it using note pad rather than word, so there may be more errors than usual, plus I forgot to post it here!
Suggestions on a post card for next month as well please. Also, I need to respond to the email sent to me bythe committee. Please let me know if you want to see it or if you want me to repond on your behalf.

This article is proving to be a popular link between the paper and electronic sections of the SOC and if this is the first time you have read this report, in the next few paragraphs, you will find a write-up on what the 850 members and 300+ daily regulars have been getting up-to out in the SOC's area of the internet.
Before we get on to that, you may or may not be aware that a couple of the forum regulars recently met with the club's committee to discuss how our developing section and the magazine can help enhance the other.
You may not be aware of how many people give up there time to make this club the success it is? I was, but it was still a bit of a shock to see quite so many faces around the table and they certainly put in a lot of hours to help us - why not thank them, the next time you get the opportunit|.
A good discussion resulted from this meeting and if you want to read about that part of the meeting, why not have a look on the forum? As a bit of teaser, to get you having a read, some insight as to why Kingpin is currently having a sabatical can be found in one of the related articles.
As a group, we have had a busy month, with a combination of completed restorations making it back on to the roads and lots of improvement projects and suggestions being shared, mostly in real-time, which is very handy if you have a problem. There have also been a few last-minute breakfast runs and runs-out to various shows arranged. The last-minute aspect being particulalry usefull given the changeable weather we have been having in our "barbeque" summer..
On a less positive note, Denis, one of our regulars, used the SOC forum and three other web-sites/forums to report and warn other owners of the theft of his Stag. It appears that several other classics, including another Stag were were stolen around the same time and the police have since reported possible links between these thefts. As Shaw Taylor used to say - "keep them peeled".
With the National Weekend happening last weekend, our number one poster, theintrovert and technical guru that is "Kryten", took advantage of SOC Forum dispatch and delivery service. Basically, what happens is you ask for suggestions how you can get item A from point B to point C - normally the requesters home location. In this example, another regular Dave M had decided to sell his spare hard-top. He used the free and intant For-Sale section of the forum to advertise it. Russ offerred to buy it and then people voluntered to drive it back from the national weekend for him - what a service! You often see members taking advantage ofkind offers to lend-out specialised tools but these are favours and not a guaranteed feature of the forum!
A little summary of todays topics:
Results of the National Day most miles travelled competition
Your pictures from National Day
Advice on Rocker Covers
Fuel Filters
New power challenge and open day at Enginuity
Help required in Fife
Guess the classic competition
Winner of the best mark 2 and 30th anniversary Stag - thank you to the forum for help with the project
Draining coolant
Brown trousers moments - beware drivers mat.
Overall, something for everyone and please remember that these are just a selection of todays topics. In total, we have over 5700 topics to choose from, with 60,000 separate posts, so plenty of info, adviceand banterto read about.
If you don’t already know how, you can access the forum via the SOC web site at http://www.stag.org.uk/index.aspx or if you get stuck, email me at stagforum@anvuk.com and I will help you get on-line.
We hope to see you on the on-line soon
Graham
