New Tyres...advice appreciated

I need somenew tyres but would appreciate some advice onwhat to fit and where to buy.My Stag has standard alloys and Iwant a decent brand for best roadholding and peace of mind. I've justnoticed a set of polished alloys on ebay with new "Corsa" tyres fitted for £295...would save me polishing my own alloys but I've no idea about this tyre brand! Any suggestions/thoughts?

I just had 4 new tyres fitted fitted through my local Hi-Q dealer - 185/14 made by NanKang.

£46 each supplied and fitted, inc valve & balancing. Seemed good to me.

My old tyres were exactly that - old. Plenty of tread, but zero grip in the wet. They had gone brittle and were cracking. Hi-Q weren't sure if one of them was 1999 or 1989...??

I have heard people give good reports about Nankang tyres on Stags. Personally I found they wore out very quickly, but I did have a rear wheel alignment problem at the time.

This month's Stag mag has an article on tyre dating.

I've got Firestone fuelsavers all round on my stag the grip well and seem decent tyre, don't know how much they cost as fitted prior to my ownership.
