Kudos to Rimmers

I know that Rimmers come in for some flack from time to time. I've bought a lot of their "kits" over the years being into a capital T Total restoration as they do represent good value. I recently bought a new set of plus 20 Thou pistons and rings and on arrival in NZ (remarkably quickly!) one of the oil control rings was broken. They are pretty fragile. I emailed Rimmers and they replied that they'd replace it. I received in the mail this week a complete new set of 24 piston rings. I'd say that this exceeded my exceptions. So credit where credit's due.

I've always found their service to be fantastic - I have often used them over the yearsfor parts for my 1972 2.5PI, 1981 Range Rover, 1985 SD1 Vitesse and as from 2 months ago my stag. Delivery has always been timely. The staff who answer the phone are always very good at clarifying the bits you need if the website has caused confusion, and they are always happy to refer you to one of their competitors if Rimmers are unable to supply it on a timely basis.

I just wish I could buy shares in them, considering the amount I spend there :-)

Due to my experience withRimmers in the past ( different car ) I was very nervous using them again. I have recently used them again a couple of times and have to say they were first class so credit where it's due. Maybe they have been reading the comments that have been made about them and sorted themselves. Theyseem to have improved about the same time as their web site was altered so possible change of attitude. Reason for going to Rimmers was I had a very bad experience with one of the suppliers and Rimmers was the only other choice,reluctant to mention names as they advertise in the SOC magazine. I have no worries going to Rimmers again.
