At Least This One Isn't Being Scrapped

    Hi All

Just been round for a chin wag with Ray he is now making good progress on his Stag project LD325. Its quite an early beast with supposedly only 15 older still in existence.

Subject to the number of mates popping round for a chat thus stopping him, working he hopes to have it back on the road next summer.

This is Rays photo site with progress so far

It's always good to hear of a Triumph being brought back from the brink. The attrition rate on Stags generally has been relatively low.

Dave Jell gave me copies of his research from when he was preparing everything for his book back in 1993 and amongst this were survival records for the very early cars all the way up to LD130. Far more than halfhad survived until then. In fact, pre-LD plate prototypes even have a good survival rate.

If I get time I will post the restoration progress photos on photobucket and put a link on here for anyone interested

                  Hi everyone

For those of you who are interested - and also for anyone who thinks they have a Rust problem - Ive posted most of the photos of the 2.5 PI that im rebuilding for a friend . Many of the panels are unavailable and have had to be made - mostly from guesswork as they just were not therethere !

                    Well where were you

I popped round to see how you were getting on this morning. Expecting to find you slaving under a hot Stag the cupboard was bare:shock:

Yup your right Ray just been through your latest set OMG the Stag looks easy pee-see. You forget so quickly what the infestation of Tin Worm can do the Mild steel when you live down under:shock:

                      Keep up the good work:dude:

                        Hi again everyone

For those of you interested / following my rebuild Ive just posted some update photos here :

                        http://s869.photobucket.com/albums/a...0Resurrection/

The nearside looked to be in reasonable condition but a few pointers made me suspicious - No line between wing lower and sill and very smooth and clean around wheelarch.

10 minutes with a chisel confirmed my doubts - lots of filler and the usual thin layer offibreglass resin with industrial sticky backed aluminium foil!

                        Ray
