    Holley Air box idea

    Hi Guys

Just seen this on Pistonheads for sale and thought what a neat piece of fabrication using the original air duct.

This would feed cold air from the front of the car to the holley instead of the normal engine bay temp air which the standard pancake filter would do.

Cold air is very important if the full performance advantages are to be materialised.

Blanks done. When finished in wood i will fibreglass the outside and coat with fireproof paint on the inside.

I'm not just making this in wood cos i can but also the whole idea is to keep the air cool and wood is a lot better than metal at doing this as long as it doesn't create a fire risk.

                  Cheers Steve

I've thought about this too, leaving my duct in place above the radiator.

However I have always thought the actual cross sectional area to be a little on the small size?

I know what you mean Mike,my one will at least let air around the back of the filter which the one at the top of this thread won't unless they have used a smaller filter .

                          Cheers Steve

Slap one of these babies on your holley/weber and then you have twin 4" inlets that you can run fresh air from the front of the car, together with a couple of K&N Cone filters.
