Hi Guys decided to check float levels on Holley Must have nipped down too mutch cos No petrol at level plug + No starting Whats procedure for setting these please and will i have to remove float chamber Help Thanks Doug2008

Doug, if it will not start its probably a blockage in the fuel system. Unlikely to be float height adjustment. But as you asked, there is no need to open the carb, there is a screw on top. Just undo the lock nut, and trun the screw until fuel drips out; then back off until it just stops. I find they work better if the float is set a bit on the low side. Cheers

Its the other way around, Turn the screw counter clockwise and then to raise the float level turn the Nut counter clockwise. This must be done with the float level indicator screw, that is on the side of the bowl,removed on the float you are adjusting and your fuel pump energised.
A word of Caution. Make this adjustment with the engine cold as when you loosen the the float level locking screw ,and the ignition on,fuel will squirt out of the adjusters.
Have some rags handy and turn the nut one flat at a time.
Loosen the screw only enough to enable you to turn the nut
I believe that the instruction manual says that the adjustment should be done with the engine running but dripping fuel/spraying fuel and and a running engine is not a good combination.
