Hi GATS,
If I were to hazzard a guess I'd be checking earths. Have a check through the engine bay for good secure earth connections - check specially around the driver side where the wiper motor is - I had some problems (incorrect temp reading) associated with a block of earths that connect around there.
Have you checked the obvious... the fusebox? (again on in the engine bay - on the bulkhead) incase they all share the same circuit?

Getting the wiring diagrams out. There are differences Mk1 to MkII and of course the Mk 1.5. What year is the car Paul?
What colours are the wires you have power on? Anything else not working.
Did all the problems occur at once?
Presume you have checked the multi connectors below the steering column.

Paul, I find the best approach with electrics is check everything methodically and use the wiring diagrams.
Your rev counter needs three things to make it work: 1. a live feed; 2. an earth;3. an ignition signal. On the back you will see the connections. All connections should look sound and be tight to work. Use a test lamp between the live feed and earth to check the connections there. Make sure the ignition wires are also connected correctly at the ignition coil end.
Use the test lamp also on the washer pump connections to see if there is power there; its probably a faulty pump though.

Hi Paul,
Put a meter or test lamp on the out put side of the fuse holder to make sure the power is getting through. The rivets on the fuse holder can go rusty and loose, mine had this problem and a sharp tap with a hammer and punch on the rivet cured it for the time being.
