    Colour Change

I am a new member to your cluband am in the process of restoring a MK2.

My question is,I want to change the colour of the vehicle from Pimento Red to Mimosa Yellow. I intend to keep the car myself for many more years yet, but will the colour change devalue the car?

Your earliest response would be appreciated as the car is now ready for painting.

    Many thanks

      Hi there and welcome

I would say that provided the colour is an orginal Stag colour the valuation will be the same in either colour - assuming that you are painting it all - i.e. under the bonnet / boot etc. It might be argued that some colours are worth more than others but you should be OK with Mimosa.

thats interesting, what colours are more sought after?

At the shows I have attended so far, I would say that white and Pimento are easily the most common.

              Obviously any yellow is good.
But Mimosa looks pale and unwell compared to Inca Yellow.

Go on, you know it makes sense, Inca Yellow is the best. Guaranteed to cheer you up every time you look at it

Hiya Bossman, give us a name and rough location. Welcome aboard, hope your sense of humour works 'cos they're all nuts on here - 'cept me. :P Mimosa is a beautiful colour and probably my second choice after White. Avoid getting a Heritage Certificate as that will show the factory colour, on balance the original colour (bar one) is best, but then you'rethe oneliving with it. Enjoy. Martin.

You could always go for red mixed with yellow and put Topaz on it!!

I'll forgo my usual "be a man and get a Java green car" and say that Mimosa was the colour of my first Sprint, and providing there is the odd bit of black around, that colour is stunning.........

Do it properly and you'll be the envy of many
