    hi all ,

my name is andy morgan , i'm a newbie to this site , i live in ashford kent i have had my mk 2 stag ld36554 since 1981 it has been under wraps for the last sixteen years , my son accidently blue the engine it dumped the oil on the m20 , i am now rebuilding the car which is french blue , i have been buying panels for the last seven years eg new boot floor new door skins two rearwings ,rear valance two new front wings , every now and again i would have a look to tackle it but just put the cover over and shut the door ,i had decided to scrap her but my next door neighbour saw me taking the cover off and asked what bits i had i took everything out ,he said you have everything here to rebuild the car , he said next weekend we start , five days later i have a new shell allmost ready for a respray , i amwalking around at forty thousand feet at the moment.

the engine was rebuiltbya friend of mine about six years ago new pistons end shells rings timing gear and is ready for the heads to go on now , only problem i have found the brightwork was store in my son's shed and the roof developed a leak , so lots of rechroming to do , i belonged to this clubfrom 1982 to 1993 approx good to be back the car will be ready for next spring and hopeto see some of you next year , sorryfor the long post regards andy

          Hi Andy,

Welcome and why not come along to one of the Kent Area meetings. Details in the magazine.

Meet some fellow nutters and ask questions. We have members in Ashford and Wye who can advise on those 'little' queries and take a look at your project.

Hi Andy and welcome. Everybody needs a neighbour like that! I hope you kept the tea/beer/sandwiches flowing for him....

Hopefully we'll see you and the reborn Stag at the national day next year, if not on one of our more informal events over the next few months....remember we're always about to help out with any little issues/questions you are bound to have during the build.

Remember to keep your sense of humour engaged

                  Regards

                  Russ:dude:

                    Hi Andy and welcome,

If your bumpers are in need of rechroming there are Stainless steel ones now which are coming down in price as they become more avaliable, thats the way i'm going to go when the time comes .Just need to take them off Andy Rundells car when he's on holiday next.

                    Cheers Steve

thanks for the welcome, my nextdoor neighbour is a really nice fella ,i am one lucky stag owner , i used to live in hastings, and one of john mumfords recruits in the early eighties , we went on a few trips with the sussex branch , but i was allways workingwekends building my house, i took a load of pics before andduring the rebuild, but i took out the memory card to get the previous pics developed and forgot to put it back ,so i'm clicking away and no results , i havesince taken some more ,so will attempt to put some up ,

we had the car ,whichi and my missus barbara absolutel loved ,one winter in 1984 when taking the kids to school my missus stopped ,the chap behind didnt , hence the car was shortened by three inches , two rear wings wrecked ,i thought it would be written off the repair bill was two grand , but gladly it wasnt , i had a complete rebuild out of that andit looked gorgeous , i drove it out of the spray shop went and pickedbarb the wife , parked outside he shop , and this chap in his car drove down the side of it , te chap turned out to be a famous actor from the fifties and sixties , i forget his name , i dont think he forgot my and round his neck for some time ,he paid for the repairs so alls well ,

                        god don't i go on ,

catch you later guys , local lads i will be in touch , i have seen some of you on utube

                        regards andy
