I have done this on a 2500 MK2 in situ and have a ground down(thickness) and cut down (length) spanner to do the job.

They are not very tight normally and take about 5 mins to change!

I've found it but it's not 25mm it is 9/16 Witworth which is a perfect fit! If you want to borrow it send me your address and I'll post it to you as long as you send it back when finished!

        cheers stuart,

do you need a tray to catch excess fluid? (possibly the worst smell in the world of lube)

bizzare thats the same size i was going to grind down myself, I got the 25mm/1" from the stag operations manual, but was at a cycle shop today and they had a really thin cycle spanner 24mm so i got the file out.

thanks for the offer of the loan

If I remember correctly there is no oil in that part of the overdrive as it does not tell you to drain the oil in the ROM page 40.22.04.

            Regards
