Hi all, has anybody had any benefit from fitting a fuel pressure regulator ? I believe the Stroms need 2 - 2 1/2 PSI, is that correct ? I'm now looking at fitting my fifth pair of needle valves in six years and it's getting to be a pain, I have an SU electronic pump and I don't know whether it's crapneedle valvesor high pressure, I have three filters in line, one before the pump, and two after it. Help. :? Martin.

Hi Martin, This may not be of help but......when chris fitted the Weber he found that it was flooding and after investigating found that I had a non standard fuel pump, it was a high pressure kind.
To remedy he fitted a regulator and that worked. I have noticed that it is a holly regulator. I think the best person to advice on your problem now may be Chris.

Hi,
I seem to remember in the dim distant past, owning a old Hillman Hunter which used a Stromberg CD 150 carb and having similar issues with this. At the time I managed to get needle and seat with an integral filter. Never had any more trouble after fitting this. I don't know if these are still obtainable. Someone on here may well know.
Cheers.
Andy.

Hi Martin,
I too got fed up of fitting new needle valves. In the end I fitted the Rolls Royce of valves which are the Grose Valve. The valves use a ball bearing instead of a needle plunger which tends to stick when it wears on one side due to the slight side thrust of the float movement. I think I bought my valves from www.scparts.co.uk . Their web page may not show them so it may be necessary to ring them. There are other suppliers as well.

Hiya Robert, they are shown as a TR6 part, is that the one you mean? I'm assuming TR6 used the CD175. :? Martin.
