I'm still troubled by the prospect, irrespective of quality,of the Iwis chains letting go without warning while the Rolon's rattle. :? Martin.
    Hi Martin

concerning rattle please read what I wrote and showed on Jan. 7th and 9th 2009 in this thread. I think my Stag was short before the GAU (Grösster Anzunehmender Unfall--Who knows the engl. expression?) and no rattle at all.

    Regards Klaus

      6. LD part chains are specified with 12 mm width. That is to my knowledge less then the original width (12,7 mm). All G68 type IWIS chains have a width between 13,9 mm and 14,0 mm. How does that fit?

      Klaus
I'll let you know as i have some on order from LD Parts .But i would be very surprises if Peter is selling them without thorough investigation.

      Cheers Steve

I struggled for years without some Verniers ,until i got that cheap set off ebay ,don't know how i managed without them.Just for sizing up drill bits and the like they are worth it.

        Cheers Steve

The fact that the Iwis chain is wider should be good for the tentioners as well i would imagine (larger area in contact)

I've bought a set just like yours Steve from Maplins, if you keep a look out they put them on offer now and again for just under £10. Reduced from about £35ish.

Are there any recommendations for the sources of the other bits? (tensioners, sprockets)
Have a word with Peter Howells at LD Parts. If he cannot supply, he will recommend.

Great to see we now have three German members contributing to this forum. Along with a couple from France, one from Switzerland, at least three from the USA and, of course, Terry from Tenerife. Should we rename this 'The International Stag Forum'?
