    New wheels

Hi, Treating the Stag to a new set of wheels either around Cristmas or the new year.

Was going to have wire wheels but Chris (Vmad) talked me out of it just by saying they belonged/ suitedto the sixties, olden type sports cars, well I agreed with him.

I fancy the ones below, What do you think?, Shall I go for it?. Any others I can choose from?....

    Sukh.

The split rims look tight! (That means cool for those who may not understand)

The wheel on top, but you can't leave your car on stilts with those rims.

Agreed,I am planning to poly bush/ refurbish the rear end before I have it lowered. But I cannot make my mind up as towhose lowering gear to use.Paddocks, HRS or Monarch.

If I use paddocks springs then I will haveto get the brackets from elsewhere to adjust the camber, HRS do the progressivesprings and brackets but have you seen the price:shock:..... I may go for Monarchs and have the rear lowered 1" and front1 1/4"or more.

            Hello Sukh,

What wheel size will you use? What Offset (ET)? What tyre size?

I reckon 205/70 x15 tyres on 7x15 rims with offset 19 might fit, but I am not sure.

            Kind regards, Dieter.

              Hi Sukh

I have been thinking about fitting 15 inch wires to my Stagbut do like the look of the minilite repsI currently have fitted and they are bad enough to keep clean so wires would be worse.

The only thing that bugs me about my wheels is that I wish they were a bit wider as per the ones in your pics. Do you know if the ones shown will bolt straight on or not and if they will do you have more details?

Also re lowering kits I got a pricefrom Chris Witor for a lowering kit complete with brackets which I have PMed to you as Im not sure if Im allowed to put the price on here without upsetting other suppliers.

                  Thanks for that Dave,

Much appreciated, good price, how much lower would the springs drop the Stag?, or is it made to measure?.

                  Cheers.

Not sure on extent the springs from Chris lower the car,I was gonna ask before I ordered them, must be enough to warrent fitting the camber adjustment brackets as those are supplied in the kit.

Are you sure the wheels from Monarchs will bolt straight on to the Stag hubs?

Having rim bolts on show is so 90's and a pain to clean.

i went 15" minilites as per the lower one in piccy, tyres are plentiful, and they were available when the cars were new. real easy to clean aswell.

Image split rims can be made for virtually any car, standard stag hubs with the correct off set, or BMW hubs with a different off set to suit. That's the beauty of split rims!

May be 90's but they're not too bad to clean as the bolts are flush

                            Cheers Steve

                              Dear Sukhi

It is already clear that you don't much fancy wire wheels and that is fine, but bear in mind that the Stag body shapeevolved from a 1964 Italian design exercise and so wires were appropriate.

                              Good wheel hunting
