Missing pipe

Still getting to use to Stag ownership,(2nd week)just recieved a load of goodies from rimmer bros, all absolutely essential you understand.

Stagwouldnot start this morning, turnover, or even click, traced fault to bad connection on starter/solonoid remade connector and insulated,bingo started first turn. However whilst down there noticed a pipe missing (appears to go from exhaust to somwhere in airbox).

Any info on this welcome , what does it do, will i damage engine running without(seems to run ok),any part no's.

I think you are talking about the hot air intake (217112) which takes warm air of the exhaust manifold into the air box on warm up .

Not the end of the world but would help on very cold days ,most of us that have Holleys/webers don't have the option of this pipe and mine runs fine .

Welcome to Stag ownership. You might want to concider other suppliers, as Rimmers are very expensive.. Try Paddocks next time or at least do a price comparison first

If you get that part from Rimmers, you will receive a length of metal ducting (Unless they have changed their supplier, I bought mine some time ago) this is not as per original and I managed to mangle mine pretty quickly just by tinkering in the engine bay. If you do decide to go the Rimmers route I would suggest that you call them to check first before you order.

ive had the same pipe missing on mine for the last 5 years, not required on this model anymore.

My car was missing the duct and elbow when I bought it so Iunbolted and removed the metal shroud from the exhaust manifold. I think it makes the engine bay look neater.
