They look good, very temptinginstead ofa re-chrome.

how do you think these compare with the E.J.Wards ones which include all fittings and badgesetc?

Dave, I think you will find that they are made by the same company (Harrington) over in Vietnam possibly hence the £69 postage costs. I have seen them up close and they look very good indeed but for me personally, they don't have that deep shine unless you polish them a lot. Saying that, not having rust is the main incentive.

I have seen these on a Stag and they do look really good, but you can tell the difference between stainless and chrome. I think I would go in for them rather than a rechrome when the time comes...

I have the ones from Wards fitted, i believe the Harrington ones come from the Vietnamese source.

I think they look very good, the sheen is slightly different than the best chromework, but i use mine all year round, all weathers, and i wanted them to last .

While they were not cheap i'd have been gutted to have to fitted rechromed ones only have them rust after a couple of years

I agree with Andrew & Andy. They look identical to the Wards ones. I fitted the Wards ones to mine as the salt air down here crucifies chrome, especially over the winter. Thesewould work out considerably cheaper than the Wards ones even after paying for the badges and stainlessnuts and bolts.

The fitand finish is very good though I agree with some of the comments that polished stainless lacks the depth of shineof good chrome - but it is better than poor chrome! So far mine still look brand new and we've had some pretty horrible damp weather of late and weeks of south westerly gales carrying lots of lovely salt spray in from the English Channel.

One concern is any customs import duty - not sure what that works out to on 675

                  Hello,

I bought some of these bumpers made in Saigon for Harrington Group for my TR6. If remember correctly the custums duty was paid in advance by Harrington and included in the shipping costs. The bumpers were delivered to my doorstep. the person I dealt with in Saigon was an Austrian called Joebstl - a nice and reliable chap.

When I put them on, I was very pleased with the way the fitted and looked.

Next to the price there was another reason not to rechrome my old TR6 bumpers: The rechromer was honset enough to say "Okay, I can rechrome those bumpers for you for around 1000.- EUR by stripping the old chrome, filling up the pittings, sanding and polishing them, then applying a layer of copper and chrome. But latest in three or four years you will come back and complain, as there will be rust under the chrome again. The reason for that is the "intercristalline" rust sitting between the metal molecules, which cannot be removed - neither by chemical nor mechanical stripping."

So I went for the stainless bumpers.

                  Kind regards, Dieter from Germany.

In that case they are a good price. Wards want £914. A set a stainless bolts and badge from Wards is about £50. So these work out about £120 cheaper.

When these bumpers first became available about 15 months ago, I asked a question to Harrington via e-bay 'Is there anywhere in the U.K. that I could see them' their reply was E.J. Wards.
