    Propshaft

    Hi

I am interested in fitting a solid propshaft to my MK2 Manual Stag. Does anyone know in the UK of a company that modifies the props and had any experience in doing the job? :?

    Much appreciated

    Hi Andrew

You could try a company called Reco-Prop.

    http://www.reco-prop.com/prop.htm

I have only ever bought drivetrain spares from them so unfortunately cannot give a personal recommendation for their propshaft services.

      Thanks Pete

Interesting website they have. i am looking to replace my rubber sleeved propshaft with a solid one in hope that it may cure a vibration problem at certain speeds. i will get in touch with them

      Cheers

Out of interest, can anyone tell me why the Stag has a rubber sleeve in the propshaft? With a spline, rubber insert and u/j's surely there is always going to be room for imbalance at certain speeds?

My wheel base is also 100.5 inches compared to the manual spec of 100 inches from wheel centre to wheel centre. This could also alter slightly the angle of the drive line if it were longer. Perhaps, I should have an 1/2 inch spacer made up or if a new prop is being made or my old one modified, then make it longer? That way the spline wont be out so far.

        Cheers
