When I bought my Stag a manual car was unusual and I had to look hard to find it, now if you go round a number of stags at National Day for example the majority are manual. Have the converters been busy or are the auto cars less likely to survive?

Standard stag thrashed and enjoyed, Nissan Murano ( very underrated, very thirsty, very fast)
Mine's an auto and at the time it was hard work finding an auto in a decent colour - I was banned from buying a white one or a manual otherwise finding one would have been a doddle......
Just wish it was a 4 speed - oh well better start saving for a conversion...........
Let us know how you get on Kev - it seems like a fair bit of work especially the bell housing and output shaft - I'm wondering if it wouldn't just be easier to save the pennies and get Monarch to supply the kit or even fit it.
It would definitely be easier to get Monarch to do it, but I'm not going to spend that much on it.
Like Les M I will enjoy the challenge, although I will have to get some of the work done for me, things like machining and welding, fortunately I have a few contacts so I hope the total cost will not be too much. I will post my progress or report back if it all goes horribly wrong!

How come this thread has been viewed 220 times and has only 29 votes? the other polls also have lots of views but few votes!
With 270+ members we could get a good picture for the club of what the mix of colour, price, mileage and auto vs manual data for use when looking at SOCTFL projects etc.

Would be good to see more votes, but don't forget every time one of us views this thread to check on the progress for example it adds one to the 'views' count

When I passed my Test I was driving a 2500S Manual Overdrive, being 17 I told all my mates it was a nitrous button and used to use third OD to demonstrate the instant boost nitrous gave you!
