nice, but not sure it's worth £13,000 especially when there is a French blue stag on ebayfor £7200 with the ZF gearbox which is a lot more beneficial than leather
Hmmm, not sure. Mechanicals are a lot cheaper and easier to fit than body work.
That car looks stunning; the engine bay is nicely detailed which is generally an indication that a job has been done well. The leather is nice and I love the colour!
Me want! (And I wouldn't even give it the full treatment; maybe just a small tweak or two!)
Also, as it's at auction, I bet it doesn't go for that sum.

Steve, i know your 'small tweaks' = new engine, gearbox and rear end
Well in this case because it's such a nice looking car and because wire wheels do scary things when you put too much torque through them, I was thinking of keeping it pretty original.
I'd keep the rear end but just change the diff for a BMW LSD and CV jointed driveshafts. I'd uprate the front brakes, change from auto to manual or maybe go for the 4 speed autobox, and of course it goes without saying that I'd ditch the Stag anchor under the bonnet for something less refined but of relatively small capacity!

does the zf box add value? or make a car more saleable?

Ian ,
Shouldn't you be selling the virtues of leather
Steve
not at 4.5K i can't, maybe the leather came from a special breed of cow

Nick maybe not, but given the choice of the ZF or leather i would take the ZF, not sure either add value just make them easier to shift.
I went to the auction today and this car sold for £15,000. If I read the Terms & Conditions correctly, there is a buyers' premium of 10% and VAT on that premium. That makes the money handed over by the buyer £16,725.
It certainly was a nice car, clearly not restored by a Stag specialist, but I'd swap it for mine.
