    Forum Areas

It's been debated on another thread about having a seperate members only area of the forums, but if one more's being added what's peoples thoughts on asking Carl/Graham to add a few more as well. As we've more that 1000 members having the bulk of the posts in one forum IMHOis getting messy. I'd like to seefive.

For Sale etc - as current

Technical Area - current SOC Forum renamed

SOC Members - online magazine/committee minutes/anything club related

    Social - meetings/ runs

Off topic - jokes and anything not Stag related

Sounds a good idea Nick, and would be similar to the many other forums around

          Don't make it too complicated.

As recently pointed out by Carl, there is already a 'Recent' button to list all the latest posts, so you can just read what you want and ignore the posts that don't interest you.

One forum that has loads of different sections is CTand Ithinkit istoo fragmented.:?

I would vote for Nicks suggestion. A small number of broad catagories makes subjects easy to find. Totally agree with Dave that we don't want lots though.

Not sure how Carls comment about recent posts help, you still and up with a random list to look at. The search facility is not much good either - doesn't seem to pick up the relevant posts but picks up lots of irrelavent stuff.

I say keep it as it is.2 sections is more than enough for a forum that only has a few hundred regular active members.

I find the varied postings in one section actually makes it more interesting than forums with categorised sections.Thinking about it,I don't bother to look at these categorised forums any more any more.

                Keep it simple.

I vote for the current simplicity too. I like the way the occasional Exocet turns up. I would be nice if you had the option of displaying everything as sections as per Nicks post, or just as it is with one main section and a For Sale.... bit

personally I like it as it is - I do not think there are that many posts a day to need any more

Keep it as it is, nice and quick to look at wit the latest topic at the top, who could ask for more. As soon as we have more sections, the more messy and overlapping topics we will have and harder to find things without having to use the search facility.

The only one that could be good would be for modified Stags
