Over thelast 6 months, through our postings, we have had lots of suggestions for improvements with the club, the magazine and laterly, the forum itself.
I am glad to report that there appears to be progress agreed and planned for lots of them.
Our press officer, Emrhys Barrell, who is actually a professional editor, is going to taking over the magazine with Carl Fuss. They have split out sections of responsibility and without spoiling their thunder, I think that people will see some good content in the future.
There is also a way forward to address concerns about who can access what within the forum whilst keeping the main section open to all. We should be able to have a members only section as I recently highlighted but there is a lot of work to be completed on things like aligning the membership and forum databases and verifying members.
For the time being, Carl and I have decided against splitting out to multiple sub-areas. We will have a members/club section, SOC Forum and For Sale/Wanted/Swap.
Many people have voluntered to help-out in areas such as typing in new database entries, collating responses to members questions, account admin, preparing articles and "just let me know what you need doing". This is appreciated and thank you everyone.I promise we will be in touch at the earliest opportunity.
I feel a bit frustrated about the response we have had from the members (not a singlequestion or request for articles) and how long it takes to put in place change in a members club compared with the speed of change we have in business but I see how things are going to happen now, which is great.
Thanks for your patience.
