Eventually I have got around to doing the welding in of the new (to me) front clip that I excavated out of a spare front end I was lucky enough to buy.
That's a fantastic repair with some interesting pictures; out of interest how easily did the replacement front end line up? I guess there was little scope for adjustment as you were fittingthe complete front effectively as one panel.

Actually quite easily. There will inevitably be a need to patch the levels up on the edges of the raised D pieces, but on the whole I think it went quite well. The key was I spent a lot of time figuring out in advance how I was gooing to get it in especially the inner panel over the bumper extentions.
Can't help you with the bodywork question really as it is not my scene. But welcome to the SOC Forum anyway.

Paul I've just ordered up the body restoration DVD from EJ Wards, £15.00 apparently the guys on this forum say it's very very useful. Might be a handy thing to have for those tricky bits that sometimes stop the job dead

Thank you for your comment.

I guess this highlights the quality of the original panels with regard to fit.I know I'd rather fit good second hand than poor aftermarket.
this looks it is going to be a very nice stag, judging from the quality of the repairs carried out so far, keep us all updated with pics of the restoration as you go.
