I've never seen a Stag with decent rear lights, you can catch up a Stag quickly without warning, which can be dangerous. We have tried led's and Lexus look etc. all without gain. Always thought it was the design of the lights itself but when I hook up the trailer tent for Nat. days etc. the trailer lights are equally bad, when the trailer is hooked up to the Audi the lights are as good as the Audi's. So I am beginning to think there must be a voltage drop on the Stag lights. If anybody has a volt meter handy when next working on the Stag I'd be interested to see what voltage you are getting at the rear lights. Possibly a relay would improve the problem.

Hi Mark, isn't that only on the MK1 ? I remade the earths on mine and they are first rate.

My other Stag is no better either.I have separate earths to all the bulb holders, and mine are fine and bright.......

Ifany dimming relay (my '73-built Mk1.5 has one) has been removed or disabled (remove earth) then there should be no significant drop in voltage unless there are dirty connections somewhere along the route. My money is on the earth wires, Bob.
