    I fitted the 123. (twin plenum TVR V8).and it does have the vacuum advance all be it enclosed within the body. however at nearly £400.00 its not worth it unless you are looking at competition where diferent advance curves may be useful.

    I removed it because it was interfering with the efi system. At a 1300 rpm the engine died for only a second.

    It was fine on the early flapper type efi but not the hot wire. i still have it if any one wishes to make me an offer.

      does that mean there is really a mechanic vacuum advance system with a diaphragm etc. hidden in the body? If so, I will forget about the 123 and will stay with my Lucas/Luminition.

        Wether it is a diaphragm or some fancy electronics i could not say but it definately has an advance mechanism working off inlet depression.

          Its a solid state manifold absolute pressure sensor contained within the distributor body and only the connector stub is external - it bears no resemblance to an original distributor vacuum advance unit in appearance or method of operation - the only similarity is advances the ignition when a vacuum is applied but it is purely electronic as the sensing mechanism is a semiconductor device that generates a signal modifying a preset timing map.
