    Poll: BEST SUPPLIER

Please vote for your best stag new parts supplier based on the following criteria:

    1. Range of parts on offer; high marks for a large range of parts

    2. Ease of ordering; do they have a website, can youtell exactly whatyou are buying, is it easy to pay etc.

    3. Quality; are the parts of good quality compared to other suppliers?

    4. Value; is the price right for the quality you get?

    5. Delivery; postage prices/speed of delivery

    6. After sales; if it goes wrong will they be helpful?

I think I know the answer but lets see who wins.

If you want to explain your reasons for choice I am sure that would add some interest to the poll, or just pop in a vote please.

NB: I have only listed suppliers who offer mainly replacement parts rather than mainly tune up goodies. We can do that in a separate poll if you like.

My vote goes to Paddocks for a large range of parts, good prices and good service. They do have a website but I found ordering is a bit tedious having to enter all my details each time.I cannot always understand what the parts are though as descriptions vary so that takes up time and effort.

LD is great, but shame they dont offer a large range of parts. I have heard good things about others but withoutonline orderingI am not so keen.

      For me:

Paddocks for the amount of stock/price. But LDpart is always my first port of call, someone I trust & price. Rimmers are well down the league for me.....Tony Hart, have used without any problems but bit too pricey, eBay costs most likely.

I've only had my Stag a few months and (fortunately!) haven't had to buy too much. Based on comments picked up on the forum I've been using Paddocks and have had no issues at all.
I do like Rimmers catalogue though - a constant companion whilst on "the throne"!

I must have misunderstood the original intent......

I thought the idea was to rate suppliers on particular criteria, such as the six that you describe, and maybe some others.

So i might rate one supplier very well for price and service, another good for range of stock, another for availability and postage prices.

The information would then help provide a more balanced view.

I donn't think this will provide the right kind of representation......sSo i'll skip this poll for now......... Andy

I have to agree with Andy, you can hardly compare Rimmers with ANG, the scale of their respective enterprises doesn't lead to any realistic comparison.

LD always first but if Peter has not got it then I look elsewhere. Also his delivery is quick, very nice helpful guy, good easy on line ordering and takes paypal.

For most of my parts i will use; Paddocks, EJ Ward, Tony Hart, LD& ebay. The Rimmers catalogue is nice to look at, i would not buy mechanical or body panels from them, most bit are ok though.

LD parts first option for quality, service and price, but small range.

2nd option usually Paddocks. Rarely have to go further. Occasionally purchase from Tony Hart, but only for items I can't get elsewhere as his prices are high compared with the alternatives.

Never used TD Fitchett as they don't have a website and I prefer to do my shopping online when Eastenders, etc is on. I would like to useSOC Spares but same problem - no website.

Slightlyunfairto include Chris Witor as he'spredominantly a 2500/2000 supplier but I'd use him for suspension parts/ stainless goodies (and he's really very good).

LDParts can be more expensive but the quality is superb; it's the only supplier who tells you the source of the parts IIRC. So as I can onlyvote for one supplier LDParts get it

Paddocks for me - agree with V-Mad on their web-site, usually have to go to Rimmers, look at the parts drawing, get the part number and check I'm ordering the right part!

Used Paddocks many times now, recently bought a Mota Lita from them along with some other bits, did a deal on the price, then they had to send me the boss from another supplier (cost them more), to cap it all when the wheel arrived there was a mark (V Small gouge) in one of the spokes. Spoke to John @ Paddocks, sent it back and its being replaced - no argument - although he did comment that they had probably lost on the deal overall. Kept my business though - now and for future.

Have used Rimmers andLD, would love to use SOC - but when/are they going to get a website?

Got to be Graham at Paddocks, no hassle alwaysbest post to Aus by miles never tries to rip you off and always tries to pack everything into the smallest and most "interesting" boxes.
Parts that are listed on the easy to use no registration site are always in stock..

Only complaint so far is the invoice is not always inside the box but that could be customs over here:shock:

Would love to be able to afford Tony Hart just for his complete commitment to the marque, but needs must......:?

Whichever supplier it is, I still believe that some form of club discount scheme would be good. How come the insurers can do it?

Can SOC spares not apply to the club for a grant for website development? I know it's now a separate organisation but can something not be worked out?

                            Just a suggestion.

I echo the comments above regarding SOC spares. I have used them recently when my car was being fixed by Faversham classics due to thier location, but I don't use them generally because I can't order online. Aside from theat they have a good reputation and seem to be highly regarded on here.
