Differental Bearing Part Numbers.

Hello.



I am in the process of rebuilding a differential for my Stag. Would anyone know the number that is on the bearing on the output driveshaft ?. I know I can get these from the dealers but I am able to get bearings from a local supplier at better than trade price. The information on the bearing is I think Hoppman L11 V4 although I am not to sure as I have removed the bearings with an angle grinder and sods law the cut went through both numbers on both bearings. It would be nice if the Timken bearing number is known as I prefer to use Timken make. I have been taking lots of pictures as I am doing this and if all works OK I will post when completed.

Timken produce a book (or did) that shows all of their product and what it was used on. If you call them direct they'll tell you the numbers. They won't sell to you direct but the stockists know the Timken numbers.

spare parts catalogue page 04-33:

if you mean p/n 134465 - based on my file I used the british brand RHP type LJ 1 1/8 Di=1 1/8", Da=2 1/2", W= 5/8"

I am not shure but I think Timken manufactures only tapered roller bearings

I was wrong-due to the cataloge they make ball bearings.

Don, when you have found out the TIMKEN no please let us know.

Many thanks for the replies. Great catalogue, cheers Steve , I see it mentions sets not part numbers.I will contact my supplier with this informationtomorrow and see what he says. I do have the Timken numbers of the other bearings but as the numbers on the drive shaft output bearings are a different make andwere towards the flange I could not see themuntil they were removed, what chance of cutting through both numberswith the angle grinder ?. Up to now this attempt at rebuilding a differential is a lot easier than I expected although there isthe assembly and setting up to come, I do have dial gauge etc and have done lots of "homework". As advised I have been taking pictures at every stage and will post when I have competed although it could be some time as I am doing this whenever I have a couple of hours spare at weekends.

My apologies Don. I read the title and assumed you needed the TR brgs......the Half-shaft bearings are indeed LJ 1.1/8" (one and one-eighth). A Brammer or other local stockist will keep them. Don't pay the list price, haggle....you might be surprised but I got 80% off the list!
