    Stag "click"

    All

Recently there was a post describing a solution to the classic Stag "click" and no turnng over of engine when trying to start it. The description was to clean a "connector block" located somewhere in the engine bay (i think) - please can someone describe its location (or piccies if poss)

    Many Thanks

      Ian,

Down near the starter is a multi-block (usually white) in the wiring loom. This is often covered in muck. Separate it, clean as much as possible and reassemble with either petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or special connector lube (can't remember the name).

The 'click-nothing' is often caused due to voltage drop across this connector which includes the WR wire for the solenoid.

Hiya Ian, DO be careful with the connector block, it's VERY easy to pull it to bits and destroy it, I would be inclined to try Steve's suggestion first, that will almost certainly cure the fault, but if not you've lost nothing but a little time. Good luck, Martin.

Thanks Martin - will go carefully and like the idea of the replacement from Wards

Remember Y2K and the concern at the millenium when there was fear that computers would crash as the year rolled onto 00. It was resolved by the famous jelly company who created Y2KY, which enabled you to put 4 digits in your date.
