Good news and bad news
I'm not that close to Bristol but I may be able to look at this for you if you could find out exactly where it is. That's the good news.
The bad news is that I couldn't do it until next week and I see the bidding runs out tomorrow. If there's anyway you can get the guy to hold on then I could go sometime in the early part of the week.
Mind you, if it's good, I'll be envious as hell cos I've just paid a lot more for a hardtop that doesn't look in much better nick than this one :X

The Front edge of that hardtop has quite a lot of bubbling and wouldn't mind betting its the same under rear lower chrome strip. But as the seller says "I've seen far worse being advertised on ebay"
Cant help thinking there must be a market for someone to produce a fibreglass hardtop. Someone on here recently got a lenham hardtop from ebay. Is it much different from the metal hardtop? are the molds still out there somewhere? Could it be a suitable SOCTFL project?
Apart from not rusting it would also be a lot lighter to move about.
