overdrive switch-refitting

Hi all,

Having trouble getting wires back onto overdriveswitch.Is there something i am missing here,after several attempts i am none the wiser.They seem to be original items.Is it possible to pull the wires out of the gearstick to give more length to the wire.

Hi Andy,

The switch wires come out of the gearstick about half way down but under the gaitor. Just lift the gaitor and see if the wires are caught on anything. I've seen a couple of these and they both had plenty of length. I had to lift the gaitor on mine so I could pull the wiresback to get the switch down again... John

Hi Andy

If you remove the wooden coil tray trim there is a large grommet to the right. This is above the switch and it could be easier to put the wires on compared to underneath.
